|Disappointing Knoxville 360 Nationals|
Ryan and the team were definitely ready for Nationals this year as they had two top 5 finishes the weeks prior to the Knoxville Nationals.
Ryan qualified Friday night with 59 sprint cars signing in. He knew he would have to work very hard, no mistakes, and the car being about perfect to have a good finish with all the competition at the Knoxville Nationals. Going out for time trials, Ryan didn't get the time he wanted. He qualified 27 out of 59. However, qualifying toward the middle gave him a front row starting spot in the heat race. Ryan had a good start and led the whole race, picking up the heat race win. This qualified Ryan for the A feature however things didn't go as planned. He lost his brakes at the beginning of the race, which makes driving a little tough. He did finish the race, but wasn’t the finish he wanted. Ryan finished 19th his qualifying night.
Ryan thought he had the brake problem figured out and fixed for main night during the 360 Knoxville Nationals. He was starting in the front of the C feature. When Ryan took the green flag he once again realized he had no brakes. Ryan tried to race with out the break but with the car not handling very well and being in front of a 22 car field Ryan decided to call it a night. So Ryan coasted to a stop causing the yellow to come out and that would be the end of Roberts Motorsports 360 Nationals.
This weekend Roberts Motorsports will get to stay close to home as Knoxville always takes a weekend off after Nationals. Ryan will be running Saturday night at the Mid-Nebraska Speedway in Doniphan. We hope to see all you all there!!
