|2017 off to a good start! |
Last weekend we raced Friday in Greenwood and Saturday in Knoxville. After the week Ryan had we were praying for a good weekend. We lost a great friend and an employee of our trucking company earlier in the week. He was also one of Ryan's biggest fans who we will miss seeing his smile after the races as well as his positivity no matter how Ryan finished on the track.
Friday we headed to I-80 speedway in Greenwood. Tityn did the drawing and drew a 76 so put Ryan starting in back of the heat race. He ended up 3rd in the heat. This gave him enough passing points he made the re draw. Again, Tityn drew but this time drew 1 for his Dad. So Ryan started on the pole and lead every lap of the feature! Picking up his first win of 2017.
Saturday we headed to Knoxville. He timed in 3rd. Started 6th in the heat and made it up to 3rd. This gave him a front row outside starting position in the A feature. He got a good start and followed Jamie Ball around for the first couple of laps. On lap 2, Ryan got around the leader and lead most the race. He was going in and out of lap traffic and went over a lap cars right rear tire. This let Clint Garner around him but I'm not sure how he saved it from going up and over. At this time also the yellow came out for someone spinning. We thought since they didn't complete a lap, Ryan would of got his spot back. But it didn't and Ryan lined up behind Garner to take the green with 2 to go! Garner picked up the win and Ryan was Second!
Special thanks to our cousin Corey for coming and helping Friday night and also to our friend Wade for helping all weekend. Ted had to go home to be with his family so we were missing our crew chief for the weekend and appreciate these guys help!
